Attorney Sheela Murthy is the Founder, President and Managing Attorney of the prominent and prestigious
Murthy Law Firm located in Baltimore County, Maryland. Her law firm has a staff of over 50 professionals concentrating
exclusively in the area of U.S. immigration law. Ms. Murthy completed her LL.M from Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA,

Cynthia Blake Sanders transacts business matters related to intellectual property, media, advertising,
and technology transfer with the law firm of Astrachan Gunst Thomas. Cynthia Blake Sanders received her law degree from
the University of Maryland (1999). Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of
Art after attending Mount Holyoke College (1985).
Before joining Astrachan Gunst Thomas, P.C., Cynthia was an attorney with an international publishing company, Agora,
Inc., where she counseled in areas of publishing, advertising compliance and general corporate law.Cynthia transacts
business matters related to intellectual property, media, advertising, and technology transfer.
Cynthia serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Law and the Maryland Institute, College
of Art, where she is presently teaching a course in Entrepreneurship for Artists.

Mark J. Swerdlin is a partner with Shawe & Rosenthal, LLP, a nationally recognized management labor and
employment law firm. Mark joined the firm after receiving his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the Georgetown
University Law Center. Mark has extensive experience defending employers with respect to age, race, sex, disability,
and national origin discrimination claims, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, and various contract and tort actions.
His practice requires him to routinely appear before state and local administrative agencies, as well as federal and state
courts throughout the country.
Mark has prosecuted and defended numerous cases concerning the enforcement of covenants not to compete. In the
traditional labor law area, Mark guides employers through representation and unfair labor practice cases before the NLRB
and advances employer interests in collective bargaining and arbitration proceedings.In addition to defending claims,
Mark devotes considerable attention to counseling clients with respect to compliance with various employment-related
statutes in an effort to avoid litigation, including wage and hour issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act and various
state statutes, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the federal Plant Closing
Act (WARN).
Mark has spoken at numerous Bar Association seminars, and has authored many publications, including a law review
article on the vesting of severance pay benefits, a law journal article on the enforceability of non-compete agreements,
and the legal analysis section of a BNA special report on the federal plant closing act. He is also a co-author of the
"Employment Law Deskbook" (1989, Matthew Bender). In addition, he is a Contributing Editor of the "Maryland and
Federal Employment Law Manual," a publication of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.
